Services
Therapeutic Exercise is a necessary component to the patient's rehabilitation.
The patient is instructed in a home program and supervised in proper technique.
Exercise includes progressive resistance for strengthening, stretching and muscle reconditioning.
Joint Range of motion will be necessary for proper comfort and function of the joint involved.
Equipment at Silk Physical Therapy Center includes Cybex extremity testing and rehabilitation, Isostation B200 for lumbar spinal rehabilitation, UBE for upper body ergometry, Fitron for lower body ergometry, Stairmaster, Jumpsoles for ankle rehabilitation and lower extremity joint proprioception, BAPS, and Fitter.
From Route 195 (East) take Exit 2 in Rhode Island for India Street toward Gano Street.
Keep left and turn left onto India Street.
Turn right at the stop sign onto Gano Street.
Continue up Gano about 1/4 mile to 167 Gano Street.
Our facility is on the right.
The entrance to the Center is from the rear of the building down a flight of outside steps.
Park anywhere in the lot.
From Route 195 (West) take Exit 3 in Rhode Island for Gano Street toward India Point.
From Brown University or the Providence's Eastside take Waterman Street to Gano Street.
Silk Physical Therapy Center will submit claims to your insurer for treatments and services performed by our facility.
We recommend that you become familiar with your plan so you are aware of your financial responsibilities.
We accept patients with almost all plans.
Please contact your insurance plan directly to confirm that we are considered a Participating Provider in your network.
Payment not covered by your insurance is due at the time of service.
If this is not possible, we are happy to discuss making a payment plan for you.
Mr. Silk has been a licensed physical therapist since 1978 with a degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
His background includes specialized training in burn care therapy in Austin, Texas, orthopedic medicine training at Strong Memorial in Rochester, New York, and inpatient rehabilitation at David Minkin Rehab Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
At Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, his experience with world renown physicians of neurosurgery, orthopedics and neurology all laid a foundation for his expertise in physical therapy, rehabilitation and pain management.
Our East Side office has an immediate opening for a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
We treat a caseload of primarily orthopedic problems, with patients ranging in age from young adult to elderly.
Our small staff provides an intimate environment for quality care and personal attention.
An upbeat attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.
Experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Applicants must have a valid RI PTA license.
