CorpoSchema Pilates & Rehab
CorpoSchema Pilates & Rehab is a physical therapy clinic and pilates studio specializing in the treatment of spinal deviations and postural misalignments. Conditions such as scoliosis, hyperkyphosis, and flat back syndrome are treated with Physiotherapy Scoliosis Specific Exercises (PSSE) following the "Schroth Method." The Schroth Method originated in Germany in the 1920s, further evolved in Barcelona under Dr. Rigo (developer of the Rigo-Cheneau brace).

One of our goals at CorpoSchema is to make the Schroth Method, as taught by the internationally recognized Physical Therapy School of Barcelona (BSPTS), more accessible to people in the Miami region. The Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School Schroth Method or BSPTS has been identified by the Scoliosis Research Society as a viable treatment option in the conservative treatment of spinal deformities.

Beatriz Rodriguez, founder of CorpoSchema, has been a practicing physical therapist for over 16 years and one of the early Schroth practitioners in the US since 2011.
Services
Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation is a science dedicated to the treatment of health and function through means other than medications and surgery.
At CorpoSchema, our focus is the treatment of all the systems of the body, as well as movement/alignment retraining and individualized exercise prescription.
We care for patients of every diagnosis, but have a "special" focus on people who have not yet been able to control or resolve their pain or problem.
We believe that our Pilates-based physical therapy sessions can make a great contribution to the quality of your life when handling injuries, postural problems, disorders of bone, muscle or joints, or the general aches and pains often experienced with aging.
When treating our patients with spinal curvatures such as scoliosis and kyphosis (Scheuermann's disease or round back), we design a therapeutic program based on the Schroth Method from the Barcelona Scoliosis Physiotherapy School (BSPTS).
The Schroth Method was originally developed in Germany in the 1920s by world pioneer in scoliosis treatment, Katharina Schroth.
The Schroth Method as taught by the BSPTS has been recognized by the Scoliosis Research Society as a viable conservative approach (one of seven PSSE schools) to the treatment of spinal deformities.
While surgery may repair the damaged tissue, the first step in solving the problem, our Post-Op Rehabilitation Program will help ensure the restoration of normal function.
In addition to reducing the swelling and scarring that result from surgery, we are interested in helping you achieve the correct alignment of repaired tissues and restoring normal mobility for lifelong results.
Our post-op treatments combine hands-on techniques and nonimpact Pilates exercises to enhance more rapid recovery and performance.
Whether you are searching for a physical challenge, wanting to lose a few extra pounds, increase your stamina or manage a chronic condition with safe exercise, our Personal Fitness Program on the different Pilates equipment can help.
It is designed to train your body for well-organized and controlled movements so you can enjoy your daily activities with greater ease and a reduced chance of injury.
All of our Pilates sessions are private and expertly customized by a physical therapist comprehensively certified by Polestar and the Pilates Method Alliance.
Any given sport with its repeated use of the same movements can cause muscular imbalances in the body, and eventually lead to injury and decreased performance.
The least-used muscles can become weak and inefficient with the leading muscles becoming tight and dominant in your body.
Through our Sports Enhancement Program and the characteristic balancing quality of Pilates, your critical muscle balance will be restored.
As an athlete or sport enthusiast, you can greatly benefit from the experience of our physical therapist as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in designing a safe and effective Pilates workout to complement your sport.
