Educating and Empowering Active Individuals and Athletes to Experience & Restore Healthy Movement, Using Hand-On Healing & Effective Exercise.
Physical Therapy is one of the most powerful therapeutic interventions for lifelong healing. Physical Therapy is a conservative, educational and individualized approach that teaches you how to have healthy movement patterns in your body. Without healthy patterns, our body is susceptible to injury, pain, dysfunction and early aging. Most run and gait is taught from the foot to hip and it's a confusing way for the body to learn.
All movement initiates from the core, including run and gait. It's imperative to optimize this component first before changing shoes, ground strike, cadence or stride length.

Mobility Phase: When a baby is born they are very mobile and require an adult to provide stability to their fragile body.
Stablity Phase: Around 6 months, a baby will start to sit up for lengths of time, a development phase that indicates they are working on stability.
Stability with Mobility Phase: A few months later (around 8-9 months old), a baby will sit and begin to reach for a toy outside their periphery.
Imagine if that baby had never worked on trunk stability for a few months.
They would fall over.

We didn't make up anatomy or body mechanics.
And, when you consider how the body was designed, there are 4 main elements needed to return to happy, healthy running.
Most people teach running from the foot to hip.
It makes absolutely no sense on how the body is organized.
You must have trunk stability for foot mobility.
Meaning, you must have an active and stable core before you even think about striking your foot to the ground.

Pain and injury cause confusion to the body and shut down certain muscles.
When these muscles shut down our body tries to compensate with other muscles and movement patterns.
This leads to dysfunction and pain in the body.
Physical therapy reorganizes the brain to use the correct muscles and healthy movement patterns.
This KEY PRINCIPLE is what heals the body.
Our body is incredibly designed to move through space forward, backward, to the side, through rotation and at a diagonal.
When our brain is organized and in a pain-free state, we are able to sync up the correct muscle sequence and coordination for a healthy movement pattern.
