Calyx Therapeutics is home to the individual Physical Therapy practices of Cristina Shupe, PT, and Arlene Cavan, PT. We created Calyx Therapeutics to provide us the opportunity to collaborate and provide high-quality, holistic physical therapy and wellness services for pelvic health and orthopedic rehabilitation. Physical Therapy should go beyond pain relief.
Successful physical therapy can provide an opportunity to reclaim motion and vibrant function. Our mission is to offer evidence-based care, tools, and strategies with compassion and thoughtfulness for your unique situation so that you can not only feel better but also get back to your work and to the activities you enjoy. We specialize in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, but also provide treatment for your whole body.
Often pelvic pain and dysfunction are secondary to problems that start elsewhere in the body. Yet it can also be the primary problem that has created problems either upstream or downstream from the pelvis. Our goal is to find and address the root cause in an effort to eliminate your symptoms as well as prevent problems from recurring in the future.

Direct access means that you can make an appointment, be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist without being referred by a doctor or other healthcare practitioner for a period of up to 45 calendar days or 12 visits.
Often called self-referral, direct access allows you to "refer yourself" to physical therapy for treatment if you feel you have a problem that may benefit from the skilled services of a physical therapist.
If your rehabilitation program is longer than this period, you'll be asked to either see your health care provider for an in-person consultation and examination or ask that they provide you with or renew your prescription for physical therapy.
