Potts Physical Therapy
Potts Physical Therapy P.C. established in 1993 is a unique physical therapy practice in Fort Collins, Colorado. Janet offers a progressive, effective, and diversified treatment approach for musculoskeletal pain, digestive pain and trauma symptoms. Her approach is based on her fundamental belief in the innate intelligence and underlying health of the body.

Advanced manual therapy techniques and rare palpation and perceptual skills are often able to provide her clients with long-lasting relief of pain and symptoms that previously have gone unresolved. As a sole practitioner, the continuum of care will always be provided by Janet. An integrative, whole-being approach designed to uncover the root causes of pain and dysfunction.

Works easily and collaborates well with other healthcare practitioners to insure successful outcomes. After having seen countless, different health care providers, all of whom couldn't figure out what was wrong, thankfully, I found Janet Potts. She listened attentively to my long history of lower back pain and expertly, gently, and effectively intervened.
Services
At 16 years old, Janet knew she wanted to be a physical therapist.
She earned her physical therapy degree in 1983 from Florida International University.
Janet has been in private practice since 1993.
She specializes in a whole-body, cause-oriented, hands-on (manual therapy) approach to chronic and acute pain.
She combines osteopathic-based muscle and joint balancing techniques, visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, Somatic Experiencing and Pilates.
She is a Level II practitioner of Somatic Experiencing and a certified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (BCST).
I have been going to different physical therapists for over 12 years, and Janet was the first therapist who believed I could be well.
She really listened and paid attention to what I knew about my own body.
Thank you!
I am pain free for the first time in 12 years.
As a clinical nutritionist who has been practicing for 38 years, I can say with complete confidence that Janet Potts is the finest healer I have ever worked with.
Not only is Janet a highly skilled PT who does remarkable visceral therapy, but her healing touch and intuitive skills -- both diagnostic and therapeutic -- are second to none.
Healing from the Voice Within is a unique and timely book about healing pain and living more fully.
With a hands-on, practical approach, physical therapist Janet Potts guides us through a technique she developed and honed for listening to one's body to get at the real source of problems, and hence finding the healthy, true self.
By truly and deeply connecting to our inner experience, we can find and heal the underlying cause of pain and illness.
The concept of "Body Conscious Dialogue" is basically about anchoring your attention on sensation in your body, asking the right questions about what is present, listening to your body's response, and applying the answers to your real life and whole being.
Janet Potts has found that osteopathic-based treatment procedures are the most effective in producing results for her clients as compared to traditional symptom oriented approaches.
Effective self-adjustment home treatment techniques are prescribed to correct the misalignment and are used to eliminate pain that returns.
Manual Therapy is the generalized term for various clinical treatment approaches that utilize trained, specific hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joints in order to relieve pain, increase mobility, and restore function.
I have a deep respect for the organs of the body, and visceral (organ) manipulation is a treatment technique I use widely in my practice.
Visceral Manipulation (VM) is a hands-on, connective tissue release technique that focuses on evaluating and restoring the movement, and thereby the function, of the internal organs such as the kidneys, spleen, liver, lungs, uterus, etc.
In addition to providing relief of digestive symptoms, visceral manipulation can provide relief of musculoskeletal pain with longer lasting correction of spinal misalignment.
