Center For Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy
COSPT is happy to announce our newest location, conveniently located on the second floor of the Southwood Town Center, is now open for treatment. Call today and ask your Care Coordinator about receiving your initial consultation or follow-up care at COSPT - Southwood. The Center for Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy (COSPT) offers a different approach to musculoskeletal condition management-one that results in a better match between the diagnosis and treatment plan.

The COSPT approach to physical therapy, sports medicine rehabilitation, and vestibular therapy assessment is scientifically proven to be more reliable and valid than costly diagnostic procedures like MRIs, CTs, EMGs, and NCVs. COSPT Physical Therapists hold JointStrong (JS), Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), and/or Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certifications and have higher education degrees within the specialty of musculoskeletal health (BPT|MPT|DPT).

At COSPT, we do not rely on costly advanced imaging or unnecessary clinical visits.
Services
Since 1990, COSPT has provided Tallahassee and the surrounding areas with highly effective care for the management of orthopedic and vestibular-related conditions.
COSPT's clinical, evidence-based approach offers patients a reliable assessment and treatment process that rapidly resolves pain, improves overall function, and prevents recurrence.
Our vestibular therapy approach is advancing the treatment of dizziness, disequilibrium (imbalance), and vertigo.
Additionally, COSPT serves as headquarters for the IMC Family of Companies-a group of advanced practice clinics with special credentialing in a highly effective musculoskeletal assessment and treatment program.
With a focus on value based interventions, COSPT as an IMC-Credentialed clinic in outcomes-accountable care, monitors and coordinates care delivery for patients affected by Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), injuries, vestibular conditions or loss of function.
IMC monitors patient-reported outcomes, recurrence rates, and cost implications for every episode of care and every patient encounter.

Common diagnoses for patients seen for spine-related pain include Low Back Pain, Neck Pain, Sciatica, Herniated Disc, Lumbar Stenosis, Bone Spur, Degenerative Disc Disease, Degenerative Joint Disease, Sacro-iliac Joint Pain, Piriformis Syndrome.
We have found a high treatment success rate with these patients regardless of prior diagnosis or image finding(s) (X-Ray, MRI, CT Scan).
Our specialists are trained in Mechanical Diagnosis Therapy founded by the McKenzie Institute (link to info about them) which has been scientifically proven to be the most effective assessment and treatment method for Musculoskeletal Disorders.
Joint pain is one of the common reasons for visits to our office.
If you suffer from peripheral joint pain, we can rapidly examine your condition using our unique Outcomes-Accountable Care model, and direct you towards the most effective course of treatment for your condition.
All of our specialists are trained to be the most effective assessment and treatment method for Musculoskeletal Disorders and have the necessary skills to reliably determine what is wrong and how to best fix it.
More than 44% of normal pain-free adults display up to a full thickness tear of the rotator cuff on an MRI.
Double vision, blurred vision, vertigo, nausea, mood swings, even difficulty concentrating, can all be symptomatic of a vestibular dysfunction.
Diagnosis for these issues are generally very expensive at a traditional physician's office and most cases are deemed incurable, only manageable by prescription drugs.
At COSPT, however, we approach vestibular care differently.
We are able to diagnose vestibular issues more quickly, more accurately and less expensively than at a traditional clinic.
The same way an optometrist can immediately diagnose a near or far sighted patient with nothing more than the alphabet, we can determine the state of your vestibular condition based on the way your body responds to simple commands and functional tests.
