Total Physical Therapy
If you can't move well then don't expect your body to cooperate with the things you want it to do. Learn the 'HOW & 'WHY' of biomechanically sound movement. Your body will thank you! We have offices in Summit & Bernardsville so you don't need to drive far to get high-caliber sports medicine & physical therapy. Our Summit, New Jersey office is located within CrossFit Veracity.

Our clinicians not only treat CrossFit athletes, but are collegiate & CrossFit athletes themselves. We have worked with Professional, Olympic, NCAA and high school amateur athletes from various sports & got them Back in the Game! We can do the same for you! I acquired this piece of driftwood about 1 year ago when my wife and I took a trip to Sonoma, California for a short holiday away.

Couldn't walk away from. If you find yourself navigating home workouts and exercises on your own, remember there are always variations and modifications that will help YOU get the most out of the movements. A quick explanation of what Total-PT virtual physical therapy sessions look like and how it all works.
Services
Orthopedic and Sport-related injuries are inevitable.
If you're active, chances are you are either currently injured or have been hurt in the past.
Certain trauma is unavoidable, but the vast majority of injuries occur through repeated movements or static positions that are simply inefficient or, in other words, wrong!
There is such a thing as appropriate and inappropriate motion.
It's biomechanics, It's physics.
You cannot argue that just like you cannot argue gravity.
If you are active and you move often, then you have to ask yourself the hard question - "Am I moving OPTIMALLY or am I moving SUB-OPTIMALLY?" Guess which one leads to pain if done long enough?
We are proud to now offer NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) as part of our overall treatment paradigm.
This technique looks at our compensation patterns from a motor control perspective.
The Motor Control Center of the brain in the Cerebellum stores movement patterns, and this occurs in normal development, in response to our repeated habits and activities, or as a result of injury as the body attempts to protect itself and avoid pain.
Often times these movement patterns are dysfunctional and pain often results from imbalance, overuse, or overloading of tissues.
Clients come to us because of pain, often only occurring on one side and they do not understand why.
They may also notice that they always lean on one leg more then the other, sit with one leg always crossed on top, arch their back, or have one shoulder higher than the other.
Simply put, these findings often represent clear signs of imbalance between joints, bones, muscles and other soft tissue in the body.
These and other asymmetries are very common and are explained, assessed, and treated using principles taught by the Postural Restoration Institute or PRI.
MOBILITY: the joints need to have FULL active and passive range of motion within their normal pathways.
DYNAMIC ABILITY: taking resistance of any kind (body weight, medicine ball, kettle-bell, etc.,) and being able to safely accelerate and decelerate that force.
Deficits in any of these 3 areas WILL increase injury risk and WILL absolutely limit performance output.
The CrossFit community values the safety of its athletes emphasizing technique and scaling workouts to individual capacity, but ultimately coaches are limited to providing modifications or substitutions during WODs for injured athletes.
The pelvis is involved in nearly everything we do from basic bodily functions to elite athletic endeavors.
Situated at the base of the spine, the pelvis connects the upper body and lower body and it also serves as the foundation of our core while supporting our internal organs.
With so many forces acting on this area, the muscles and joints in and around the pelvis are susceptible to imbalance which in turn can impact muscles and joints throughout the body.
While typically thought of as a condition that only affects pregnant and post partum females, problems with the pelvis can affect anyone at any age and stage of life.
