PhysioFix
My name is Shelli Rigby and I am the founder and primary physical therapist at PhysioFix PT. I have been a licensed physical therapist providing PT services for more than 20 years and have been fortunate to be able to practice and gain experiences all over the world. I studied physical therapy in Northern Ireland, graduating with honors in physiotherapy from University of Ulster in 1998.

During that time I completed rotations in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and South Africa before returning to Ireland to work in a teaching hospital. Through these experiences, as well as many continuing education courses, I gained a unique perspective and blend of skills that I rely on today. Since moving to the Boston area, I have worked in outpatient orthopedic clinics in the area specializing in complex neck / back pain, manual therapy and women's health PT.

I founded PhysioFix, PT to allow more flexibility in my schedule and to provide physical therapy services to people at home, improving access to physical therapy for people who have difficulty getting to appointments due to physical ailments or home circumstances, such as young children, work restraints, etc.
Services
A lot of neck pain and headaches are due to posture issues, muscle tension, and neck stiffness and can be treated effectively with physical therapy.
After a full evaluation, I will work with you to correct the problems that are causing your pain and will help you learn to prevent headaches through simple changes in your posture and lifestyle.
Manual therapy to increase movement and relieve pain and to stretch the muscles of the back of the neck.
Strengthening exercises to increase the strength of the muscles that help stabilize your upper back and neck to improve your posture and endurance and make it easier for you to sit or stand for longer periods of time without discomfort.
PhysioFix provides a one-on-one integrative approach to physical therapy, looking at the whole body to determine cause of dysfunction in order to provide the correct treatment to minimize pain and get you back to feeling your best quickly.
I believe that a combination of hands on manual therapy, a specific directed exercise program (where the therapist actually looks at the way you move as opposed to just counting reps), and patient education is the best way to get the best results.
Time is spent making sure the patient understands why they are performing a specific exercise and how it is supposed to feel.
