A woman's pelvic floor muscles support her bladder, womb (uterus) and bowel (colon).
They help maintain urinary continence, keep the pelvic floor in optimal and stable position, healthy sexual activity, assist with good posture and breathing.
A woman goes through a lot of changes throughout her life which causes great stress in her pelvic region.
Pelvic floor pressure occurs with growing pregnancy, number of pregnancies and type of pregnancy, phases of labor and during child birth, age related hormonal changes, scarring and pelvic pain post gynecological surgery and general pelvic muscle weakness.
Pregnancy and child birth are the most joyous time for a mother but these events take a toll on mothers body.
