Our physical therapy approach uses a combination of hands-on manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modalities such as electrical stimulation and dry needling to assure you gain the mobility, strength, and function necessary to return to your desired lifestyle.
Dry needling is used for the treatment of pain and dysfunction.
Dry needling is based on a modern comprehensive understanding of human neuromusculoskeletal anatomy, pathophysiology, and scientific research and pain models.
Dry needling is effective for resolving soft tissue dysfunction, such as inflammation, tendonitis, contractures, trigger points, tissue adhesions, microcirculation, edema, and various other neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
A comprehensive examination and evaluation of the neuromusculoskeletal systems are performed by our doctors of physical therapy to create a musculoskeletal diagnosis.
The Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) includes the two joints connecting the jaw to the skull.
These joints are used for all mouth and jaw functions including speaking, biting, chewing, and yawning.
When a problem occurs with the TMJ, these everyday functions become very painful or impossible to perform and can greatly affect your quality of life.
Common symptoms of TMJ include clicking while moving jaw, grinding or gnashing teeth, headaches, and pain while chewing or biting into food.
Depending upon the cause and dysfunction, treatment may include exercises, postural exercises, relaxation techniques, retraining breathing habits, correcting improper movement patterns, manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, intraoral or extraoral, joint mobilizations, or dry needling.
Our office is experienced in working with sports injuries and rehabilitation for injured athletes.
We welcome athletes of all ages from youth, HS, college, and recreational.
We can address any acute, chronic, or repetitive injuries that may have occurred during your sport and design a safe program to get you back in the game.
We are also experienced in post-surgical rehabilitation for your sports injury and work with your surgeon to recover your mobility, strength, and function to be able to return to normal activities.
