What should I bring on my first visit?
Please bring your insurance card and photo id, your physician's prescription, and loose fitting clothing so that you can be examined properly.
We will send you a link to our patient portal so that you can upload your patient information prior to your appointment.
What to expect on your first visit?
We will perform a thorough examination to identify the structures causing you pain and to determine if there are any contributing factors that may have predisposed you to injury.
Orthopedic physical therapy utilizes manual therapy (hands on treatments), therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and patient education to help patients recover from their injuries.
Our physical therapists are orthopedic specialists and experts in evaluating, treating and managing patients with orthopedic conditions.
Some of these conditions include sprains, strains, tendonitis, arthritis, ligament tears, muscle tears, joint/muscle/tendon inflammations, post fracture injury, joint stiffness, joint pain, rotator cuff repair, ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) reconstruction, and post arthroscopic and total joint replacement surgeries.
Physical therapy is essential following most orthopedic surgeries.
In fact, often it's a good idea to see your physical therapist prior to surgery to reduce swelling, restore range of motion, and improve strength so that you can have the best possible outcome after surgery.
Talk with your physician to determine when you should start physical therapy and schedule your rehabilitation visits prior to having surgery to ensure that you have the visits that you need immediately after your procedure.
We see many patients recovering from a variety of procedures including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, meniscectomies, rotator cuff repairs, shoulder arthroscopy, total knee replacements, total hip replacements, total shoulder replacements, ulnar collateral ligament reconstructions (Tommy John Surgery), and many others.
