To improve the range of motion of a joint I recommend holding a stretch for 3 sets of 30 seconds 2-3 times a day.
Once the desired range of motion is met then stretch for 3 sets of 30 seconds twice a week to maintain joint mobility.
I recommend older adults replace 30 second counts with 60 second counts.

It can make us sad, angry, frustrated and fearful along with a list of other emotions.
Why do we experience pain?
We experience pain because it can protect us and help us heal.
Unfortunately, it can also persist when our tissues have healed as best they can and no longer need protection.
During initial or acute pain, impulses are sent to the brain from damaged tissues to help signal the body's adaptive measures to protect and heal the injured tissue.
Adaptive measures may include the actual physiological healing process or more external measures such as discontinuing a tennis match after a severe ankle sprain.

The ACL is located in the center of the knee and helps control forward and rotational movement of the tibia (shin bone).
Certain aspects of knee anatomy and family predisposition (not modifiable, genetic)1,7,8,9.
This indicates these programs may be particularly beneficial when implemented in larger groups such as those found in school athletics.
In non-operatively managed patients bracing may be beneficial particularly if they are a skier.
