We are the largest and one of the fastest growing Academies of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). The Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy leads the physical therapy field in research, practice and education so that members deliver care that is evidence-based, innovative, and effective. The AOPT's Mission is to empower members to excel in orthopaedic physical therapy.

The AOPT's Vision is to be a world leader in providing resources to optimize movement and musculoskeletal health. The AOPT is developing evidence-based CPGs that enhance diagnosis, intervention, prognosis, and assessment of outcomes for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions commonly managed by physical therapists. The Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy offers an excellent choice of high quality monographs through its Independent Study Course series.
Services
Description of duties: Management and development of staff including developing and clarifying all roles, duties, and responsibilities; operations compliance, contracts, ensuring building maintenance, managing tenants, and directing development of objectives, policies, budgets and operating plans for AOPT; financial management; ensuring the AOPT mission is carried out through adherence to bylaws, policies, strategic outputs, and actions of the Board; and supporting AOPT leadership in their professional association relationships.
Christine Mansfield, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Duke University.
After graduating she completed an Orthopedic Residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
She is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Certified Athletic Trainer.
Christine's clinical interests include treating swimmers, upper extremity athletes, and low back pain.
Christine also specializes in treating pelvic pain and dysfunction and she has a passion for treating young female athletes.

The mission of the AOPT is to promote excellence in orthopaedic physical therapy.
Major activities of the AOPT include supporting clinical practice, research and advocacy related to orthopaedic physical therapy, supporting public relations activities within and outside the APTA, promoting the examination process for specialist certification in orthopaedic physical therapy, and sponsoring educational programs to provide members with a continual update of information, trends and treatment techniques.
