We are here to help you overcome problems related to your joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones. For many of our patients, we are the first medical professional they seek out when they are in pain. We also see patients referred to us from family physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, dentists, athletic trainers and chiropractors. Our patients range in age from young children, middle and high school students, college athletes and young adults, to parents and grandparents.

At some point in our lives, we will all need help with an orthopaedic problem. The practitioners at Sterling are orthopaedic clinical specialists (OCS) which is the highest qualification a physical therapist can attain. Orthopaedic clinical specialists have enhanced diagnostic skills and can provide specialty care for their patients, achieving the most effective outcome for the patient with complex conditions.

Being an orthopaedic clinical specialist means the staff at Sterling have advanced knowledge and skills when treating orthopaedic issues.

No matter if you see Travis, Angie, Rob, or Pat, you will receive the same high quality orthopaedic physical therapy care.
Travis is originally from the Pekin High School area and came to Pella to play football for Coach Schipper at Central College.
He came back to Pella after graduating from the University of Iowa Graduate Program in Physical Therapy.
He began to be drawn to orthopaedics as he gained experience and soon became passionate about orthopaedic physical therapy.
In 2004 he became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and saw the need for a physical therapy clinic to specialize in orthopaedics.
Travis has become very interested in competitive dance from a physical therapy and sports performance perspective, as his daughter is involved in competitive dance.
As he has learned more about dance and dance athletes, he had the opportunity to present a Dance Athlete seminar to The Dans Company, parents, coaches, dance athletes and owner/coach Amanda Ritzert.
Travis was very impressed with Amanda's proactive approach for her dance athletes and her motivation to help them achieve their highest potential, by consulting with the sports medicine community and physical therapy.
Iowa Ortho-Pella has a new state-of-the-art facility to serve Pella and South Central Iowa.
The facility is great and offers new capabilities and services.
The clinic is lead by Medical Director and Orthopaedic Surgeon, Christopher Vincent, M.D.
Dr. Vincent has been practicing orthopaedics in Pella since 2012.
The facility also has six other visiting orthopaedic surgeons from Iowa Ortho.
In addition to the great orthopaedic surgeons, the facility also includes many physicians assistants who specialize in orthopaedics.
Travis has been a Physical Therapist since 1997.
Over his career, he and his team have had many questions about access to quality yoga studios in Pella.
The standard answer was, "there isn't one."
Many people have claimed to be yoga experts over the years but haven't had real training in it.
That has changed now in Pella thanks to Katie Douglas opening Sequoia Fitness & Yoga.
Travis and his team took a tour of Sequoia and were very impressed, so much so that Travis and his family now attend Flow Heated Yoga twice a week.
