Since opening in 1986, our goal For each patient who enters our doors is to develop a comprehensive physical therapy program. Louis Coiro is the founder of Tewksbury Physical Therapy and Drum Hill Physical and Sports Therapy.
He graduated in 1982 with a degree in Physical Therapy from UMass Lowell.
Prior to staring his private practice, Louis worked at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
While there he treated traumatic brain injury and pediatric patients.
He also worked in their outpatient orthopedic center and pain management program.
Louis remains an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Surgeons routinely refer post-surgical patients to our physical therapists to help them recover strength, function and mobility.
Our therapists provide one-on-one, evidence-based physical therapy treatment sessions to help facilitate your recovery and return to activities of daily living (ADLs), work, recreational activities and even competitive sports.
ARTHROSCOPIC KNEE SURGERIES - including meniscal repairs, micro-fracturing, ACL and MACI cartilage repair, meniscectomies.
TENDON REPAIRS - including rotator cuff, quadriceps, patella, achilles and biceps tendons.
Our staff is experienced in the Physical Therapy management of upper extremity, lower extremity and spine fractures.
Due to prolonged immobilization of fractures, you can often experience loss of motion and strength of the involved joints.
This results in difficulty in resuming normal activities.
We understand how important it is that you regain your independence.
Throughout your course of rehabilitation, your therapist will work to improve your functional mobility.
Strengthening, posture and range of motion exercises will be incorporated.
