Mary Weiker, PT, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from The Ohio State University in 1983 and was also certified as an Athletic Trainer. She specializes in Orthopedics and Sports PT with an emphasis on Manual Therapy & Individualized Exercise Prescription. At a time when studies indicate people are getting increasingly less sleep, one thing remains clear: we need to take sleep much more seriously as it is critical to both health and healing.
Those who don't get enough sleep are prone to lots. It's been said that too much of anything can be bad for you. And according to a physical therapist, this theory holds true with sitting - or, pretty much any prolonged sedentary behavior, for that matter.
