At Believe Pediatric Physical Therapy, we know that oftentimes all parents are told that their children. But we have seen many of these children do things they were never "supposed" to do, and we believe that every child deserves an opportunity to be challenged, to be supported, to be believed in. Not every child will walk, or sit independently, or even roll without assistance, but every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their potential.
And at Believe, we are committed to offering the tools to help them. At Believe Pediatric Physical Therapy, we utilize intensive Therasuit therapy because we know the incredible changes that can occur in three short weeks with this therapy. We utilize the Universal Exercise Unit (the cage) because it efficiently targets weak muscles and allows children to experience active weight-bearing in midline.
We utilize Neuro-Developmental Treatment because this is the gold standard for improving posture and movement in children with cerebral palsy, and works equally well with other diagnoses.

Services
Intensive suit therapy provides the push a child needs to move to the next level in their development.
Three weeks of intensive therapy can bring about progress in a child's motor skills that may normally take six to twelve months with traditional outpatient therapy.
Believe Pediatric Physical Therapy's program focuses on a child's abilities and works on building their skills to enhance their motor development and take them to the next level and beyond.
Our program's focus on repetition of gross motor movements trains the child's brain to make these movements automatic.

Suit therapy developed from the original Penguin suit used in Russia's space program.
The suit was designed to counteract the harmful effects of weightlessness on the body after returning from long periods in space.
It has since been refined into a model that helps children with cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular disorders.
The Therasuit was developed by Richard and Izabela Koscielny and is a modified version of the original Russian suit.
It consists of a vest, shorts, knee pads, shoe attachments, and hat, and utilizes bungees to correctly align and load the body.

The universal exercise unit, or cage, is utilized in two main ways: the Monkey cage and the Spider cage.
The monkey cage is used for isolating and strengthening specific muscles necessary to produce functional movement.
It uses a system of pulleys and weights to target specific muscles.
It allows the therapist to facilitate strengthening of weak muscles while preventing compensatory use of other muscles.
It is also used for vestibular activities such as "flying" and swinging.
It can be used with a treadmill for unweighted gait training.

This includes 20 hours per week of direct physical therapy.
Because we value giving each client our full attention, we accept a small number of patients per 3-week period.
Patients who require a modified intensive session will be charged a pro-rated amount.
Beginning in 2020, we will offer a discount for multiple intensive therapy sessions that are booked and attended in one calendar year (January through December).
If the remaining balance is not paid in full prior to the session, the deposit will be credited toward any available session.
