Matt Harrison, the founder of Harrison Physical Therapy, is a lifetime resident of the Hudson Valley.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island, where he was a four-time New England Track and Field Champion.
Matt completed his graduate work in physical therapy at Simmons College in Boston, MA, where he specialized in orthopedics and sports medicine.
After graduation, Matt worked as a physical therapist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston until he and his wife relocated to Dutchess County in 1999.
The first visit will last approximately one hour.
Each new patient provides the receptionist with their physician's referral, fills out any necessary paperwork, and then is brought into a private room where a complete evaluation takes place.
The physical therapist discusses with each patient the nature of their injury or complaint and their medical history.
Then the therapist will perform a physical examination, which will include range-of-motion and flexibility measurements, strength measurements, gait analysis, palpation and various special tests to confirm the diagnosis.
Due to the high levels of stress our bodies endure during both athletic and recreational activities, it is an all too common occurrence to experience soreness and performance decrements, sometimes up to 72 hours after the activity.

Harrison Physical Therapy is conveniently located on Route 9 in Fishkill, NY, and is easily accessible from Beacon, Cold Spring, Garrison, Newburgh, East Fishkill, Hopewell Junction, Lagrange, Beekman, Wappingers Falls and Poughkeepsie.
At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Route 9 North.
Continue on Route 9 North to Fishkill, where you will pass the Fishkill Shoprite Plaza and a Foam and Wash car wash.
The next office building on the right will be Harrison Physical Therapy, just before the Putnam County Savings Bank.
