Services
Massage therapy is the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purposes of normalizing those tissues.
Massage techniques affect the muscular, skeletal, circulatory, lymphatic, and nervous systems of the body.
These techniques are often used in combination to achieve the best results and enhance tissue healing.
Promotes faster healing of soft tissue injuries, including pulled muscles, sprained ligaments and reduction in pain and swelling.
Improvement in posture by changing tension patterns in the soft tissues that affect posture.
Dry Needling is a treatment technique that uses small, filiform needles to release tight muscles or spasms with the goal of reducing muscle pain and soft tissue dysfunction.
It helps to increase circulation to the region and stimulate the self-healing properties in the body.
It can help resolve acute or chronic pain, help you return to work, sport or activities and improve life satisfaction.
Conditions that are commonly treated with Dry Needling include inflammatory, contractures/muscle dysfunction, and/or blockage of microcirculation (edema/pitting edema).
At Excel Physical Therapy we use the latest treatment tools to assist our therapists in your recovery.
These tools are used to decrease inflammation, decrease pain and promote healing.
Here is a list of the modalities you may encounter during your course of treatment with us.
Ultrasound is a therapeutic modality that has been used by physical therapists since the 1940s.
It uses a transmission of ultrasonic waves that pass into the skin causing a vibration of local tissues.
This vibration causes a deep heating in the area although no sensation of heat is usually felt by the patient.
Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body.
Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, the Pilates method is a systematic practice of specific exercises and focused breathing patterns that combine flexibility, strengthening, spinal alignment, core stabilization, balance and coordination.
At Excel Physical Therapy we value the benefits of Pilates exercises to balance the body and improve rehabilitation potential.
We have a reformer and other Pilates equipment to provide our patients with a well-rounded combination of exercises.
Developed in India thousands of years ago, yoga has become increasingly popular as a form of exercise in the United States.
The purpose of yoga is to create strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body.
Yoga can be a very effective therapeutic modality for those recovering from, or living with, injury and illness.
At Excel Physical Therapy we have certified instructors that offer therapeutic yoga practices to improve balance, heal and prevent injuries, strengthen muscles and enhance overall health.
